Robert Bowne
Biography
Robert Bowne was a prominent New York retail merchant at 39 Queen Street (now Pearl Street). In 1775, he established the firm of Robert Bowne and Co. Bowne held the position of treasurer of the Union Library Society, and was one of the originators and a trustee of the New York Hospital.
