John Henry
Biography
John Henry (1750-1798) was a statesman from Maryland. He graduated from the College of New Jersey, later Princeton, in 1769 and studied law at the Middle Temple in London. Henry was a member of the Maryland General Assembly, and later the Continental Congress from 1778 to 1780 and 1785 to 1786. He was elected as one Maryland's first United States senators, serving from 1789 to 1797, and was governor of Maryland from 1797 to 1798.
