Jeremiah Platt

Biography 
Jeremiah Platt (1744-1811) was a New York merchant who, with his brother-in-law Samuel Broome, headed Broome, Platt & Co. During the American Revolutionary War, the firm relocated to New Haven, Connecticut but returned to New York in 1783.
