Joshua Waddington

Biography 
Joshua Waddington (1755-1844) arrived in New York from England in 1776 to join his brothers, William and Henry; he and Henry went into the linen-importing business together as H. & J. Waddington & Co. JWaddington was elected a Director of the Bank of New York in 1787. He also served as President of the St. George's Society of New York from 1802 to 1808. Waddington's second marriage was to Gertrude Gouveneur, the daughter of Abraham Ogden.
