Notices of marriages were clipped from the newspapers of the day by Elizabeth Denning Duer (afterwards Mrs. Archibald Gracie King).
Index to three little books marked volumes I,II,III of marriages of New York people between the years 1836 and 1870.
Index also to deaths of well known persons contained in volume III from 1862 to 1870.
Made June 1901 by May King Van Rensselaer.
