In honor of our 250th anniversary in 2004, the Library published a book,
The New York Society Library: 250 Years, which includes essays on the history of the Library and the city, excerpts from a quarter millennium of publications and correspondence, and tributes from contemporary members.
If you are new to the Library and have not yet received a copy of the book, or if you never picked one up, please ask for one at the front desk. The book is free to members.
