Moyers on Democracy collects Bill Moyers' most moving statements on the state of America, including insights on economic inequality, the assault on the Constitution, the undermining of the electoral process, and the despoiling of the environment. Through it all, he assures the reader that "the gravediggers of democracy will not have the last word."

One of the country's most prominent and respected journalists, Bill Moyers has been a founding organizer of the Peace Corps, a senior White House assistant and press secretary to President Lyndon Johnson, publisher of Newsday, senior news analyst for CBS News, and producer or host of many groundbreaking series on public television. He is the winner of more than thirty Emmy Awards and nine Peabody Awards and many other awards and honors. Among his bestselling books are Listening to America, A World of Ideas, The Power of Myth (with Joseph Campbell) and Moyers on America.
