Born June 21, 1954 in New York City. Graduate of The Dalton School and Yale College (B.A. with honors and distinction in the major; recipient of Bildner Prize for scholarship in Latin American Literature); candidate in May, 2007 for master's degree in public administration/interriational economic policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Fluent in Spanish and French. Studied Portuguese and Japanese.
Served as Special Assistant to Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs and on National Security Council transition staff in Carter Administration. Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications at American Express Company's headquarters; for past decade, prtsident of Issues Management International Inc. in New York City (speech writing, annual reports, research and writing for corporations, public agencies and non profits).
Written more than 20 articles for publication, mostly on issues relating to international investment and economic development, including three op eds for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. On board of non profit CEC International Partners; on board of The Yale Club of New York City; chairman of The Yale Club library for more than a decade; member, The Cosmopolitan Club and on Club's House Committee.
