25 Years of Project Cicero

Join the Library in supporting—and celebrating—25 years of the Project Cicero book drive. Over the past quarter century, Project Cicero has distributed more than 4,000,000 books to over 1,000,000 public school students in all 5 boroughs.

At the annual book distribution event, teachers from underserved NYC schools have the opportunity to replenish and enhance their classroom libraries. This year, throughout the weekend of March 8-9, over 1,000 educators are expected to walk away with as many books as they can carry.

Here's how you can help:

  • Drop off new and gently used Children's and YA books in the Library's entry stairwell from February 27-March 6.
  • Purchase books from our Wish List and they will be donated directly to Project Cicero.
  • Volunteer your time at the book distribution event.
  • Find other ways to help, including monetary donations, here.

Thank you for supporting Project Cicero and New York City's developing readers!
