Forthcoming Books - Summer 2016

Monday, June 6, 2016

“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”
― Henry James quoted by Edith Wharton in A Backward Glance

For many of us, summer is the perfect season for reading.  Unhurried schedules and long daylight hours give us the opportunity to spend more quality time with books.  Though summer can sometimes be a fallow period for publishing, the list that follows proves this isn't the case this year. But these titles are just the tip of the iceberg.  If there is something you don't find here, please share it in the comments field and request it from the Acquisitions Department by filling out a request slip at the circulation desk, or login to our website and use the Suggest a Purchase form. And in other seasonal book news, we recently posted summer reading recommendations from staff members and you can see those here. Happy reading. —Steven McGuirl & Patrick Rayner, Acquisitions
