Please Support Our Spring Appeal

Wednesday, May 11, 2022

To the Members and Friends of the New York Society Library:

On behalf of the Library, I want to thank you for being a part of our community during this time of great uncertainty. Through it all we’ve felt your warmth and appreciation, and we enter this spring cautious but full of hope that we have turned a corner: New York City is emerging from the challenges of the last two years with its usual resilience and spirit. Members and friends like you have supported us every step of the way and helped to bring our city back to life.

Now, once again, I’m asking for your help. Building on the momentum we’ve generated over the last several months will require the financial support of our entire community. Membership numbers are rebounding, but we haven’t reached pre-pandemic levels yet, and this affects everything we hope to do in the year ahead. Please consider making a gift today.

Your contribution to the 2022 Spring Appeal will have a direct impact on our basic operating budget; things like book and electronic resource acquisitions, salaries, and building maintenance. It will provide for the lectures, seminars and other events that we are so happy to be able to offer in-person, finally, in addition to live-streaming. Your gift is a concrete expression of faith in the Library’s, and the City’s, recovery.

With gratitude,

Carolyn Waters
