Thank you to each and every one of you who supported the Library this past year – not only with your ongoing membership – but with your very generous contributions to our Annual Appeal. Keeping the Library open sixty-one hours a week is a tough business. It requires retaining helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff (who I would argue are the best in the business); keeping our century-old building in working condition; ensuring that our reading, writing, and stack spaces are spotless; and maintaining and preserving our valuable book collection.

But your generosity does more than merely help us keep the doors open. It gives us the freedom to continue to present our popular lecture series and reading seminars; expand our print, e-book, and digital collections; develop new and innovative programming for babies on up through adulthood; and actively work to implement your ideas and suggestions. Each and every donation – from $20 to $20,000 – makes a difference.
