Library Blog

Thanks for You!

Tuesday, November 24, 2020

The Library closes at 5:00 PM Wednesday, November 25 and is closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for Thanksgiving. But there's still plenty for both members and nonmembers to do on our website.

For the most access, join the Library - all levels of membership are currently available including our e-membership. Due to a matching gift, your Annual Fund donation doubles its impact through December 31!

FOR EVERYBODY

We asked these great authors why they love the Library...

Join in an upcoming event from home! Here's the list of upcoming online events. (Some are public, some members-only.)

Enjoy this online gallery of beautiful book covers designed by Margaret Armstrong. Learn more about Armstrong's covers in this article by Barbara Bieck and our online gallery talk. There's also a downloadable coloring book and a wonderful related presentation by three Met Museum curators.

Learn a little something on our blog - recent posts include a visit with our Conservator - and pizza.

Tease your brain with the literary-themed challenge of our first live-event Trivia Tuesday question set and its lightly Bastille Day-themed sequel!

Visit the Library's COVID-19 Community Archive.

Plan your reading with book recommendations - the latest include a big list of In Case You Missed It.

Watch a recorded event from a past season; this year's include An Evening with Jamaica Kincaid, Laura Rocklyn as Miss Jane Austen, poet Willie Perdomo, and Michael Zapata and Lydia Millet with Amy Brady. Fall season streaming coming soon!

Find fun and educational resources for children and more for tweens and teens. Here's a big list of screen-free activities including crafts and coloring.

Discover the Library’s historic past through digital materials from our print and archival collections in City Readers.

There's lots more on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
