Mayonnaise

2012 5th-6th Grade Poetry Honorable Mention

I look at mayonnaise with disgust

It's a topping that I will never trust

When my Mom spreads it on my sandwich

My face turns red and I kick and fuss

"Mom, I told you NO MAYONNAISE EVER!"

I threw my sandwich to the ground

Not because I have to

Because I must

My sandwich pops open and I notice

My Mom did remember

No mayonnaise

Now I have no lunch
