Praised by critics and readers for her realistic, sympathetic characters, Danziger received a Parent's Choice Award, an International Reading Association-Children's Book Council Award, and many other honors. A library member for many years, Danziger spoke in 2002, captivating the audience with stories of her travels and writing.
