Oh, see the tall buildings and the tall trees,
And the cars swoosh swoosh on the smooth streets.
All different types of people rushing to work.
Clickity clacking down the subway stairs.

Hearing the loud screech of the caterpillar buses,
The rumble of the subway below my feet,
The flock of pigeons flying in a circle in the blue sky above.
"Hola, hola!" calls the boy from the bodega.

Oh, smell the donuts from the silver coffee cart.
Hungry workers humming and tapping music in the line.
The yellow school bus turning around the corner,
And little children skipping into school.

Shoppers circling through revolving doors,
And a poet sitting on the park bench writing,
Oh, see the tall buildings and the tall trees,
And the cars swoosh swoosh on the smooth streets...
