See 270 years of history in 90 minutes at our new variety show - a full cast of actors presenting original short plays, songs, and more. Free, public performances Sunday, November 17 and Monday, November 18.

October 30: Uptown at Night returns to the Members’ Room with a vibrant new lineup of humorous storytellers including Amy Chua, John Kenney, Ann Leary, and Alan Zweibel, with Brian Fitzsousa on keyboard. Sydney LeBlanc hosts. Wine and light refreshments will be served.

November 2: Join balladeer Linda Russell on a musical adventure to 1700s New York, as we salute the Library's 270th Anniversary. Recommended for ages 5 and older.

Starting November 7: Led by translator and historian Sophus Helle, this seminar introduces two of the oldest works in the literary canon. 

November 14: With high-octane stories from twenty authors, it’s the deadly side of the Empire State that tour guides never tell you about. Join the Library and Sisters in Crime for a free panel discussion on this new anthology.

November 20: A tribute and rallying cry for one of the preeminent champions of Black pride and self-determination, with Marcus Garvey's son Dr. Julius Garvey and Diane Richards of the Harlem Writers Guild.
