A Pop-Up Display: Alexander Hamilton

Fifteen rare or wonderful items related to Alexander Hamilton from the Library's collection are on display in the Peluso Family Exhibition Gallery September 14-27, 2015. The Library was already thirty-five years old and shared a building with the federal government when George Washington tapped Hamilton to be Secretary of the Treasury in 1789. Our holdings include eighteenth-century letters by and about Hamilton, pamphlets and government documents from his time in office, and genre-spanning books about his life and legacy.

The Assunta, Ignazio, Ada and Romano Peluso Exhibition Gallery is open to the public whenever the Library is open.

The Library's next major exhibition, Sarah Parker Goodhue: A Hidden Collection Comes to Light, opens in the Peluso Family Exhibition Gallery on October 6, with a reception for members and their guests on October 5.
