The Iliad with Donald McDonough
Whitridge Room | for members only | $75 for the four sessions | registration required
Homer's Iliad is being read and reread. This summer's Oresteia at the Park Avenue Armory began with Agamemnon's murder; Cy Twombly's 50 Days of Ilium had a major 2019 exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; contemporary writers Pat Barker and David Malouf set novels in Troy.
This seminar reads Homer's Iliad to discover why today's writers and artists are fascinated with an epic composed about 2800 years ago.
