Library members and their guests are cordially invited to the opening reception for this new and original exhibition of books devoted to historic sites in the Middle East and beyond. Head of Exhibitions Harriet Shapiro will provide insights into the items on display, and remarks will be given by author and catalog contributor Andrew Oliver. Andrew Oliver served as director of the Museum Program at the National Endowment for the Arts. He is the author of American Travelers on the Nile: Early U.S. Visitors to Egypt, 1774-1839.
