Peter Sís, Robinson

Thursday, November 8, 2018 - 5:00 PM | Members' Room | open to the public | kindergarten-grade 5 | $10 per person, payable at the door | registration required

A boy who loves adventure.
A mysterious solo journey.
A remote island wilderness.

Cast away in this beautiful dreamlike story and discover what surprises await. Peter Sís blends a true story from his childhood with the fictional adventure of Robinson Crusoe to create a magical picture book filled with heart and imagination that readers will want to return to again and again.

We invite you to bring your heart and imagination with you to meet award-winning author and illustrator Peter Sís. He will describe his unique art techniques and share his newest book, as well as stories about his childhood and the paths he followed to becoming a writer and artist.

Peter Sís is a Hans Christian Anderson Award winner, a Sibert Award winner, a three-time Caldecott Honoree, and a MacArthur Fellow. His award-winning picture books include Starry Messenger: Galileo Galilei, Tibet Through the Red Box, and The Wall: Growing Up Behind the Iron Curtain.
