It’s hard to believe, but on December 16 Jane Austen will turn 250 years old. Let’s make the welkin ring with our celebration of her anniversary: we’ll read (or re-read) Pride and Prejudice (1813), Emma (1815), and Persuasion (1817). We’ll sprinkle our reading of these ever-fresh novels with the reading of relevant chapters from William Deresiewicz’s book A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter (2011).
