Teen Writers' Workshop: Ellen Hagan, Poetry from Page to Stage

Thursday, March 1, 2018 - 5:30 PM | For members and their guests in grades 7-12 | Whitridge Room | $15 per person | advance registration required

In this ongoing series, young writers are invited to join notable authors in exploring different genres. Poet, performer, and teacher Ellen Hagan will lead a performance poetry workshop using contemporary poems and improvisational games. Teens will leave this workshop with fresh new work of their own and techniques for taking their work from page to stage.

Ellen Hagan teaches at West Virginia Wesleyan College and Adelphi University and is the Poetry Chair of the DreamYard Project for Bronx middle-school students. Her poems and essays can be found in her books Crowned and Hemisphere, in Creative Nonfiction and Underwired magazine, and in many anthologies. Hagan has performed at The New York International Fringe and Los Angeles Women’s Theater Festival.
