Workshop: Create Your Unique Book Club with Heidi K. Weber and Liz Scully
This original half-day workshop is for anyone who has enjoyed a great conversation about a book and wants to make them happen more often. If you’re in a book club, would like to start a book club, or hope to re-energize an existing book club, this workshop will provide all the tips you need.
Discussion will cover
- identifying the purpose of your book club and finding members;
- building community and using social media;
- choosing the best books for your club;
- managing discussions; and
- creating special book events to enhance your club’s meetings.
The workshop will then go hands-on in smaller groups for a sample discussion of Penelope Fitzgerald’s beloved novella The Bookshop. Participants will also receive book club templates, suggested reading for clubs, and meeting ideas for truly unique book clubs. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald can be purchased from Half Price Books or a bookseller of your choice.
Heidi K. Weber is a reader, writer, life strategist, and certified coach who leads The5 Book Club, presents webinars, and writes about the BookBundle Method at TheLiterarySalon.com.
