The Storm

2023 3rd & 4th Grade Poetry Honorable Mention

The clouds start to darken as the rain flows thru the streets.
The thunder rumbles in the sky with wind swooshing and rustling in the trees.
The windows make whistling sounds,
And it was so windy that the grass looked like swerving waves in the sea.
The ground felt like blocks of ice just waiting to be cracked,
But then the sky started to turn bright.
Then clouds started to fade.
Plump pink flowers bloomed across each tree as fresh petals glide lightly in the
road.
Now it sounded like a beautiful orchestra echoing across the whole wide
world.
I can’t even believe what happened tonight,
First it was dark, then it was bright!
