It's Complicated: Secrets, Schemes, and Friends

Sunday, November 8, 2015 - 3:00 PM | Members' Room | For seventh grade and older | Advance registration is required | $5 per person, payable at the door

Find out how friendships, and schemes, and secrets propel these gripping stories:

  • Three best friends use subversive methods to promote their favorite novel, with unexpected consequences—I Kill the Mockingbird by Paul Acampora
  • An overprotected high school soccer star stumbles upon hidden skeletons in her family’s closet and won’t rest until she knows the truth—Ink and Ashes by Valynne Maetani
  • During a year filled with twists and turns, tweens and teens navigate friendships, test limits, and reinvent themselves—Goodbye Stranger by Rebecca Stead

We invite teen readers to join us for an afternoon of conversation, readings, and refreshments as the authors discuss their new books and reveal their own secrets about how these stories came to be. Books will be available for signing.

The discussion will be moderated by Jennifer Hubert Swan, Middle School Librarian & Director of Library Services, Little Red School House & Elizabeth Irwin High School.

Priority in registration is given to teens. Parental accompaniment is not required. $5 per person, payable at the door. Advance registration is required.

To register, contact 212.288.6900 x234 or ya@nysoclib.org.
