Candy Galore: Halloween 2022

Monday, October 31, 2022

Halloween is back in person at the Library, with staff dressing up alongside some appropriate books!

Linnea Holman Savapoulas hosts Miss Spider's Tea Party (by David Kirk) at the Circulation Desk

Children's/Young Adult Librarian Susan Vincent Molinaro surely knitted this wowsers mask to go with Jane Cabrera's Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

Page Justin Schwartz visits from the ranch with Lois Lenski's Cowboy Small

Events staffer Marialuisa Monda is headed off to The School for Cats by Esther Averill - because black cats need love too.

Beware the stacks where witches lurk in the person of Assistant Head Librarian Meg Donabedian, showing us A History of Witchcraft, Sorcerers, Heretics, and Pagans by Jeffrey B. Russell

But watch out for wolves in the Circulation Hall! - although Circ staffer Kirsten Carleton is a cuddly one enjoying Little Wolf's First Howling by Laura McGee Kvasnosky and Kate Harvey McGee

And it's "Anarchy in the Library" with Head of Events Sara Holliday going punk alongside Sid Vicious on the cover of Jon Savage's classic England's Dreaming: Anarchy, Sex Pistols, Punk Rock, and Beyond

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (Head of the Children's Library Randi Levy)...she's gonna want a whole lotta trick-or-treaters scrambling for candy in the lobby!

And of course they're welcomed in by our glamorous good friend Panda Witch:

As a special bonus: Development Assistant Diane Srebnick (not pictured) celebrated the season with a visit to the final resting place of Washington Irving - much remembered this time of year for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - and a trustee of the Library in the 1830s!

It was another sweet Halloween at the Library - here's to many more.
