2011 5th-6th Grade Poetry Honorable Mention

I was shooting down the mountain, the snow spraying like a fountain,
when I was halfway down I turned around.

I shouted, "Hey ho look at me go! I'm flying down the powdery snow!"
I felt the wind in my hair, I was almost there!

It was really exciting, but the wind was biting.
It was like I was fighting to get to the finish!

Then I flipped in the air. It was a real scare!
I fell on my face; it was a real disgrace.

I guess I wasn't all that fast, because I came in last.
