Daytime Talk Series: Sharing Your Book with the World

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - 10:00 AM | For members only | Whitridge Room | free of charge | advance registration required

You’ve done it—you’ve published a book. You loved the dreaming, the research, the writing, but the word “publicity” gives you pause. Join Janice Nimura for a workshop on what can be the most joyful part of the publishing process: sharing your story in person. Nimura will talk about crafting an engaging presentation, finding audiences of all sizes, and supporting your efforts with social media and an online presence.

Janice Nimura is the author of Daughters of the Samurai: A Journey from East to West and Back, which was a New York Times Notable Book in 2015. The recipient of a 2017 Public Scholar Award from the National Endowment for the Humanities, she is currently working on a biography of Elizabeth and Emily Blackwell.
