Tessa LaNeve, Primary Previews Drama Seminar (4-session seminar)

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - 5:00 PM | For Members and Their Guests | Whitridge Room | $50 for all four sessions (recommended); $15 per session

Get an advance look at the 2015-2016 season of exciting new plays at Primary Stages. Each session is dedicated to reading and discussing one of the upcoming plays with Tessa LaNeve, director of the Einhorn School of Performing Arts and New Arts Programming at Primary Stages. Deconstruct the texts, conjure your dream cast, discuss design and production elements, and place these four plays within the larger New York City landscape of American theater. This seminar welcomes both theater artists and theater lovers.

The new plays for discussion include:

Informed Consent by Deborah Zoe Laufer, a drama about one woman's quest to answer the mysteries of science and her own life, based on a landmark court case between the Havasupai tribe and the University of Arizona

The Body of an American by Dan O'Brien, the true story of an extraordinary friendship as two men, a war photojournalist and playwright, journey from some of the most dangerous places on earth to the depths of the human soul

Exit Strategy by Ike Holter, a fiery, riveting work about the chaotic final days of a Chicago public school.

Primary Stages, founded in 1984, is an Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and sharing the art of playwriting. www.primarystages.org
