Get the creative juices flowing in these fun and instructive sessions. Participants will receive a prompt and will have 20 minutes to write freely after which they are encouraged to share their writing with the group. Use the prompts to jumpstart your writing, generate new ideas, and break out of writing blocks.

Carol Weston is the author of thirteen books for young readers. Her first book, Girltalk: All the Stuff Your Sister Never Told You (HarperCollins), in print since 1985, has been translated into a dozen languages. Her other books include the Melanie Martin series (Knopf) and the upcoming Ava and Pip, which is inspired in part by her service as a judge for the Library’s Young Writers Awards. Her teaching engagements have included a course with prompts at Middlebury College.
